Medan – FKM USU: Faculty of Public Health Universitas Sumatera Utara organized the Public Health Career Expo on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at the FKM USU Auditorium under the theme “GROWING CITA – Guiding Readiness and Opportunities for Work while Inspiring Career Aspirations in Public Health.”
The event aimed to prepare public health students to become more ready and competitive in entering the professional workforce. The program was attended by students of FKM USU and officially opened by Dr. Umi Salmah.
The keynote speaker was Tesalonika R.M. Panggabean, an alumna of FKM USU who currently works as a Brand Ambassador at PT SalesWorks Group, a company specializing in sales activation and direct sales-based marketing strategies.
During the session, the speaker delivered educational materials related to non-conventional career trends in public health, personal branding techniques, strategies for succeeding in recruitment within the health sector, competitive CV development, and the creation of professional LinkedIn profiles.
A total of 81 participants attended the event with high enthusiasm. Through this activity, participants gained practical insights, improved skills in preparing career-related documents, and a better understanding of strategies for entering the workforce in the field of public health.

Medan – FKM USU:  The Student Executive Board (BEM) of the Faculty of Public Health, Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) organized the Faculty of Public Health Student Competition (KOMMAS) 2.0, which would take place from April 13 to 15, 2026, at the FKM USU Auditorium. This event carries the theme "Optimization of the Role of Health Promotion in Improving the Quality of Life of the Community to Achieve SDG’s 3" with the aim of honing student’s critical thinking and creativity in addressing future health challenges. The types of competitions in this event include: quizzes, public speaking, debate, scientific writing, public service announcement, and infographic poster. The judges in this competition were the lecturers from FKM USU. The quiz competition was won by "Team Kesuma Et Al." (1st place), "Team THR" (2nd place), and "Team Sakinah" (3rd place). The first place in the public speaking competition was Syifa Zhafirah, second place was Madinatuz Zahra, and third place was Fira Zinta. "Team Syapz" was chosen as the first place in the debate competition, "Team Novice" as second place, and "Team Pemula" as third place. In the scientific writing competition, "Team Gado – Gado" took first place, "Team Emmi Simatupang" second place, and "Team Glucosafe" third place. "Team Nafdan" was the first place in the public service advertisement competition, "Team Damn" second place, and "Team Adalah Pokoknya" third place. In the infographic poster competition, Alkhis Novarianda Solin was chosen as the first place winner, Khoirunnisa Fitri Pulungan as the second place winner, and Gading Bonang Harahap as the third place winner. KOMMAS 2.0 FKM USU 2026 was supported by partners such as Wardah, HokBen, and CekrekBox.
