Medan – FKM USU: Five lecturers from FKM USU, namely Ir. Indra Chahaya S., M. Si, Prof. Ir. Etti Sudaryati, M.K.M., Ph.D, Drs. Tukiman, M.K.M., Dra. Syarifah, M.S, and Dr. Eka Lestari Mahyuni, S.K.M., M. Kes, received patent certificates awarded on Friday (January 30, 2026) at the USU Intellectual Property Innovation and Management Institute (LIPIHKI) Auditorium. The certificates were presented by the USU Vise Rector for Information, Planning, and Development, Prof. Dr. Drs. Opim Salim Sitompul M.Sc. In 2026, FKM USU obtained seven patents, consisting of five national inventions and two international inventions. The lecturers who received the Domestic Patent Certificates include Ir. Indra Chahaya S., M.Si. with the invention "Natural Larvicide Product from Powdered Castor Bean Seeds (Ricinus Communis) to Kill Aedes Aegypti Mosquito Larvae"; Prof. Ir. Etti Sudaryati, M.K.M., Ph.D. with the invention "High Protein, Iron, and Vitamin C Biscuit Formula with the Addition of Pumpkin, Moringa Leaves, and Peanuts"; Drs. Tukiman, M.K.M. with the invention "Process of Making Paper Soap from Tofu Dregs Extract"; and Dra. Syarifah, M.S. with two inventions "Red Snapper Fish Meatball Formula Enriched with Moringa Leaves (Moringa Oleifera) to Overcome Stunting" and "Eco-Flex Bottle with Flip-On Mechanism and Anti-Slip Handle." Two international inventor lecturers are Dra. Syarifah, M.S. with "Portable SOSA Bottle Containing Lysol as Disinfection of Mycobacterium Tuberculosis in Sputum of TB Patients"; and Dr. Eka Lestari Mahyuni, S.K.M., M. Kes. with "Formula Acem-acem (Oxalis Dehradunensis R.) Leaf Ethanol Extract Anti-Aging Cream".
