Prof. Dr. Ir. Albiner Siagian, M.Si., as the head of the community service team, stated in his opening remarks that this initiative was designed to enhance students' understanding of food safety, particularly among those targeted as recipients of the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) program. Through this activity, it is hoped that students will be able to identify foods that are safe to consume and develop habits of consuming safe, clean, and hygienic food starting in elementary school. Following the educational session on food safety, the activity continued with a hands-on food safety practice through interactive activities on Clean and Healthy Living Behaviors (PHBS). The community service team also launched the jingle “Eat Nutritious, Eat Safe” as an innovative form of interactive educational media. The jingle was designed to make messages about hygiene, food safety, and nutritious eating easier for students to understand and remember. This activity reflects the FKM USU commitment to fulfilling the Tri Dharma of Higher Education while supporting the strengthening of food safety in school environments. It also contributes to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 2 on Zero Hunger, SDG 3 on Good Health and Well-being, SDG 4 on Quality Education, and SDG 17 on Partnerships.
