Medan - FKM USU: Japan Nus Company carried out a visit to FKM USU, May 19, 2023, received by Deputy Dean I Dr. Umi Salmah, S.K.M., M. Kes and the expert staff of the FKM USU Dean. The visit, as explained by the Japan Nus Company Project Coordinator Mr. Hidenori Ishiguro to discuss the condition of the beach, the situation of mangrove forests and marine waste in the Province of Sumatra Utara. "We are currently carrying out the ERIA (Economic Research Institute of ASEAN and East Asia) project with the Japanese Ministry of Environment which is planning activities to contribute to the problem of marine debris in Indonesia, especially those that pollute mangrove forests," said Mr. Hidenori. Expert Staff of the Dean who is also a Lecturer in Environmental Health Specialization at FKM USU Dr. Sri Malem Indirawati, S.K.M, M.Si. on this occasion explained about mangrove forest conservation activities as well as the results of research and community service that had been carried out in Sumatra Utara.
