The reforestation activity in Labuhan Deli Urban Village, Medan Marelan Sub-district, was carried out by planting 700 trees of various plants on the banks of the Deli Watershed. This activity was done by the academics of FKM USU together with the local community led by the Head of the Labuhan Deli Urban Village Government Division, Zulfikar S.H. The reforestation activities carried out in Regemuk Village, Pantai Labu Sub-District, Deli Serdang District, in addition to providing as many as 800 various types of plants to the local community, mangrove planting was also conducted at Labu Beach. According to the Dean of FKM USU, Prof. Dr. Dra. Ida Yustina, M.Si, who led the two activities, the reforestation activity became the choice of FKM USU this year as a form of the go green movement. The community service activities in Regemuk Village, Pantai Labu Sub-district, Deli Serdang District are also filled with various other activities, such as joint gymnastics, medical examinations by students of the Doctoral Program, and local food-based food processing (making nuggets from tuna and shrimp shells) by students of the Undergraduate Program.

The Head of Labuhan Deli Urban Village and the Head of Regemuk Village sincerely appreciated the activities conducted by the academics of FKM USU. “We hope that this kind of activity can continue to be conducted in our area because it is tremendously positive for the community,” said the Head of Regemuk Village.
