Medan - FKM USU: Professor Jane C-J Chao, Director of the Office of Continuing and Extension Education Taipei Medical University gave a public lecture on the topic "Global Nutrition Problem" virtually, on Thursday (November 23th, 2023). The public lecture was attended by the Faculty of Public Health Universitas Sumatera Utara students at all levels (Bachelor of Public Health, Bachelor of Nutrition Science, Magister And Doctoral Degree). Prof. Jane C-J Chao is a Professor in the field of nutrition at Taipei Medical University, Taiwan with an H-Index of 28. The material presented by Prof. Jane is related to nutritional problems in the world which are difficult to solve due to healthy lifestyles and low economic conditions in society. He also explained the factors that will influence the Global Hunger Index in 2023, such as climate crisis, conflict, poor governance, gender discrimination, and the economy being impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic. The Dean Faculty of Public Health Universitas Sumatera Utara Prof. Dr. Dra. Ida Yustina, M. Si in her speech said that the material presented by Prof. Chao is very relevant to nutritional problems in Indonesia. The moderator for this public lecturer was Risanti Febrine Ropita Situmorang, SKM, M.Sc, lecturer from Faculty of Public Health Universitas Sumatera Utara.
