Medan - FKM USU: Three students from the Faculty of Public Health (FKM) of Universitas Sumatera Utara (Erdianta Sitepu, Muhammad Rizal, Lisa Suryani) had the opportunity to participate in the Global Health True Leader (GHTL) training, batch 6, held in Bukittinggi, West Sumatra, for one week (July 29 – August 4, 2016).
Global Health True Leader (GHTL) is an international leadership training platform organized by the Indonesia One Health University Network (INDOHUN) in association with The South East Asia One Health University Network (SEAOHUN). This platform focuses on implementing the One Health Approach, where health practitioners such as doctors, nurses, midwives, veterinarians, public health experts, nutritionists, and environmental engineers collaborate to address zoonosis issues worldwide and in Indonesia.
The participants of GHTL Batch 6 consisted of undergraduate and graduate students from 34 universities and faculties across Indonesia, all under the age of 30. They had passed a rigorous selection process by the committee, which included English language proficiency, with 53 successful participants.
FKM USU alumni, including Nanda Safira (Fresh Graduate), Nelly Pasaribu (alumna class of 2007, currently pursuing a Postgraduate degree at Kaohsiung Medical University, Taiwan), and Fransiska Simbolon (Alumna class of 2010, currently pursuing a Postgraduate degree at Kaohsiung Medical University, Taiwan), also attended the GHTL Batch 6 training.
