Medan - FKM USU: FKM USU, in collaboration with the Medan City General Election Commission (KPU), held a webinar on "Health Protocol Education in Medan's 2020 Regional Election" on Saturday, November 28, 2020. This webinar aimed to educate the public, especially those who would be voting, to strictly adhere to health protocols during the voting process on December 9, 2020. The guest speakers in this webinar were KPU Medan Commissioner Drs. Edi Suhartono, M.Si, the Dean of FISIP USU, Dr. Muryanto Amin, M.Si, and the Dean of FKM USU, Prof. Dr. Dra. Ida Yustina, M.Si, with Destanul Aulia, SKM, MBA, M.Ec, Ph.D., Secretary of the Master's Program in Public Health Science of FKM USU, acting as moderator. The 2020 regional elections, held simultaneously across Indonesia, took place amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, raising concerns about the potential for becoming a source of transmission clusters. Despite this, the three speakers expressed optimism that the elections would proceed smoothly if all parties followed health protocols, including washing hands, wearing masks, and maintaining social distancing practices to minimize the transmission of COVID-19.
