Medan, FKM USU: FKM USU held a Workshop on the Development of Faculty Performance and well-being Indicators on Friday (August 7, 2026) at the FKM USU Auditorium. This event, attended by faculty members at FKM USU, is part of the faculty’s commitment to strengthening governance, improving performance, and supporting faculty professionalism and well-being. The workshop featured Joko Susilo, S.Kom., M.Kom., Secretary of the USU Directorate of Human Resources, and Muhammad Khoirunnas Simangunsong, S.Kom., Head of the Subdivision for Employee Supervision, Control, and Development, as speakers. The event was moderated by Diza Fahamira Hamzah, SKM., M.Kes. The materials presented covered several key aspects of faculty career development and performance management, including the completion of the Faculty Workload Form (BKD), academic leave, faculty promotions, and faculty certification. The discussion of BKD was a key component because it relates to documentation and the fulfillment of the three pillars of higher education—which include education and teaching, research, community service, and supporting activities. The presentation of the material was conducted in an interactive manner. The participants showed enthusiasm through their attention and active involvement during the session, including by asking questions and discussion various matters related to the implementation of BKD, career development, and the fulfilment of faculty administration. Strengthening faculty capacity through a deeper understanding of career development and performance systems is also aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4: Quality Education, by strengthening the quality of human resources in higher education. The workshop session was closed by the Dean of the USU School of Public Health, Dr. Umi Salmah, S.K.M., M.Kes. In closing the series of activities, the Dean expressed his expectation that all faculty members would not only take away notes from the event but also develop a commitment to translate them into practical action. According to her, the faculty’s future must be developed through collaboration, dedication, and tangible contribution from all faculty lecturers. It is anticipated that this series of activities will become part of a collaborative effort to drive progress and enhance the quality of the USU School of Public Health.
