Medan – FKM USU: The Faculty of Public Health, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FKM USU) initiated a collaboration with BPJS Kesehatan in implementing the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, following the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) previously established between BPJS Kesehatan and Universitas Sumatera Utara.
The meeting to explore the MoU implementation was held on Monday, November 17, 2025, at the BPJS Kesehatan Office in Jakarta. The FKM USU delegation, led by the Dean Prof. Dr. Dra. Ida Yustina, M.Si., was received by the Deputy Director for Actuarial Affairs of BPJS Kesehatan, Benjamin Saut Parulian Simanjuntak, S.K.M., M.M., along with his team.
During the meeting, both parties presented potential areas of collaboration that could be implemented jointly. The Vice Dean I of FKM USU, Dr. Umi Salmah, S.K.M., M.Kes., outlined several areas of cooperation needed by FKM USU, including:
Internship opportunities for students and graduates
Practitioner lecturers
Research collaboration
Community service programs
BPJS Kesehatan expressed enthusiasm regarding the planned implementation of the collaboration, considering that the institution has already established partnerships with several universities.
“Cooperation with USU will expand BPJS Kesehatan’s collaboration network with higher education institutions,” said Benjamin.
