Medan – FKM USU: A webinar titled “Sample Design and Multivariate Analysis: Statistical Foundations for Research” was held online by the Faculty of Public Health, University of North Sumatra, on Tuesday, December 9, 2025. The event featured two speakers from the Faculty of Public Health, University of Indonesia (UI): Prof. Dr. Besral, S.K.M., M.Sc., and Prof. Dr. Drs. Sutanto Priyo Hastono, M.Kes. In his presentation, Prof. Besral emphasized representative samples to obtain research results that can be generalized to a wider population. Prof. Sutanto Priyo Hastono presented on the role of multivariate analysis in understanding complex real-world phenomena. The webinar was opened by the Head of the Master's Program in Public Health, Faculty of Public Health, USU, Prof. Dra. Nurmaini, M.K.M., Ph.D., who hoped that this activity would enhance participants' understanding of the application of sample design and multivariate analysis to produce quality research. This activity was attended by lecturers, students and researchers from various universities in Indonesia, with moderator Hotma Nani Sari, S.K.M who is a student of the Master of Public Health Study Program, FKM USU.
