Medan - FKM USU: The Faculty of Public Health, Universitas Sumatera Utara, held an International Guest Lecture themed "Population Dynamics and Reproductive Health Interlinkages" on Thursday (July 16, 2026). The event featured the UNFPA Representative in Indonesia, Dr. Hassan Mohtashami, as a speaker. Officially opened by the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, and Alumni, Sri Rahayu Sanusi, S.K.M., M.Kes., Ph.D., the event was held in a hybrid format and attended by 231 participants from various health education institutions across the Sumatera Island. In his presentation, Dr. Hassan Mohtashami explained UNFPA's "Theory of Change" framework, which guides UNFPA's global efforts to achieve quality population outcomes and sustainable development through: (1) Sexual and reproductive health and reproductive rights, (2) Gender equality and human rights, and (3) Quality of population, economic growth, development, peace and security. The event was moderated by Inayyah Nur Fitry Sirajuddin, S.K.M., M.Kes., a Lecturer at FKM USU, and contributes to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being), SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 5 (Gender Equality), SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
