Medan - FKM USU: FKM USU celebrated the peak of the 28th Anniversary event in a hybrid manner (offline at the FKM USU Auditorium and online through Zoom Meeting and YouTube live streaming on Thursday, October 21, 2021. The theme of the 28th Anniversary is “Strengthening Collaboration to Improve Public Health Resilience.”

This activity was filled with a scientific oration delivered by Elzadaswarman S.K.M., M.P.P.M, an FKM USU alumnus class of 1993, currently serving as Assistant for Economic Development at the Payakumbuh City Regional Secretariat. The event was also filled with giving awards to the family of the late Drs. Abdul Jalil Amri Amra, M.Kes, for his dedication to FKM USU.

The USU Rector, Dr. Muryanto Amin, S.Sos., M.Si, said in his speech that in the era of the Industrial Revolution 4.0, graduates of USU's public health must be able to compete with graduates from universities abroad. "We can no longer be satisfied with excelling only at the local and national levels, but we must encourage ourselves to continuously improve our quality and competence to compete at the global level," said the Rector.

 

In her speech, the Dean of FKM USU, Prof. Dr. Dra. Ida Yustina, M.Si, said that FKM USU continues to improve itself in achieving its vision of becoming an internationally standardized faculty. Collaboration with various national and international institutions will continue to be enhanced to support the implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education at FKM USU. "This collaboration theme was chosen to support the sixth work program of the USU Rector," said Prof. Ida.

The 28th Anniversary Celebration of FKM USU, attended by its academic community both offline and online, was enlivened by congratulatory video messages from Deans of Public Health Faculties across Indonesia, alumni, and partners. The event was closed by announcing winners from various competitions held to celebrate FKM USU's 28th Anniversary, including writing scientific papers, health education videos, public speaking, and cultural programs.
