Medan - FKM USU: S1 Public Health and S1 Nutrition programs students of FKM USU receive a silver medal at the Jakarta International Science Fair (JISF) which hold at the Indonesia International Institute for Life – Sciences (i3L) in Jakarta from July 27-30th 2024. This international competition is attending by four countries: Hong Kong, Thailand, Turkey, and Indonesia, with the Indonesian Young Scientist Association (IYSA) as the organizer. The FKM USU team who participating in the competition are consist of S1 Public Health student’s names Halimah Sakdiah Hasibuan and Ami Sary V. Tinambunan, collaborating with S1 Nutrition students name Anggi Brema Sitepu. They create a research paper in the Life Science category with the topic ‘Nature Crunch Biscuits: Special Ingredients from Marasi Fruit (Hymenaea courbaril) and Mangrove Fruit (Rhizophora mucronata poir) to Prevent Stunting.’ The innovation that producing a biscuit product to prevent stunting in children aged 1 to 2 years. This team mentoring by Risanti Febrine Ropita Situmorang, S.K.M., M.Sc., a young lecturer from the S1 Nutrition program at FKM USU.
