Medan – FKM USU: FKM USU held the Introduction to Campus Life for New Students (PKKMB) on August 12-14, 2026. The event was attended by 473 newly enrolled students, comprising 379 students from the The Community Service Team of Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), led by Dr. Hatta Ridho, S.Sos., M.P.S., together with Dr. Husni Thamrin, S.Sos., M.P.S., and Dr. Solahuddin Nasution, S.E., M.P.S., who implemented a program to strengthen the capacity of the laundry business at Ulumul Qur'an Stabat Islamic Boarding School, Langkat Regency. This partnership program aims to promote the economic independence of the Islamic boarding school through professional, orderly, and competitive business unit management.

Previously, the management of the laundry business unit at the Islamic boarding school still faced operational challenges, such as simple managerial practices, the absence of established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for services, unsystematic financial record-keeping, and suboptimal digital-based promotion. In response to these challenges, the community service team provided intensive assistance covering the development of service SOPs, basic financial management, managerial task allocation, as well as branding strategies and digital marketing through social media.

Through a participatory learning-by-doing approach, the laundry managers and students received hands-on training in preparing financial reports, managing the business's social media accounts, and improving customer service responsiveness. This management transformation is expected not only to enable the laundry unit to meet the needs of the Islamic boarding school and surrounding community but also to make the laundry business a sustainable entrepreneurship learning platform for the students. and 94 students from the Undergraduate Program in Nutrition.
