Medan – FKM USU: The Faculty of Public Health of Universitas Sumatera Utara held a Sharing Session on the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) Program on Friday (04/02). The event took place online by inviting 3 students from Batch 1 of the MBKM program to share their experiences.
The Head of the Undergraduate Study Program of FKM USU, Dr. Ir. Evi Naria M.Kes., opened the event by saying that this sharing session held by FKM USU is a forum for students who have participated in the MBKM Program to motivate and share tips and tricks with other students who are interested in joining the MBKM Program so they can pass the selection process for the program of their choice.
Dodi Saputra Hutagalung (Environmental Health Student of FKM USU 2018) shared his experience following the "Kampus Mengajar" Program. According to him, the Kampus Mengajar Program is the first MBKM program held aiming to help the school education system during the pandemic. Apart from teaching, this program also aims to share experiences and information to educate students on hygiene, sanitation, and personal health. Moreover, He also participated in the "Pejuang Muda" Program with a placement in Southwest Sumba, East Nusa Tenggara.
Threesna Sharfina, a 2019 Health Administration and Policy Student of FKM USU who had the opportunity to be an awardee of the Indonesian International Student Mobility Awards (IISMA) Program at the University of Glasgow, Scotland, United Kingdom, stated that she gained a lot of experiences and increased insights by participating in the IISMA program. "Don't be afraid to try, and don't think about whether you will be accepted or not. Students must have good plan matters," she said.
Jasmine Pratiwi (Environmental Health Student of FKM USU 2018) participated in the "Magang Bersertifikat" Program at PT. Danone Indonesia. According to Jasmine, to join the certified internship program, students can look for it through the MBKM website. "Find out companies that have specific internship programs," she said.
