Medan – Faculty of Public Health USU: A seminar themed “Reset Your Coffee, Reset Your Health” was held at the Auditorium of Faculty of Public Health of USU on Thursday (December 18th, 2025). The event was attended by 197 students from three universities: students of FKM USU, the Faculty of Medicine of Universitas Islam Sumatera Utara and Faculty of Public Health of Universitas Islam Negeri Sumatera Utara. This seminar was conducted as part of Problem-Based Learning in the course “Advanced Leadership and Systems Thinking” of the Doctoral Program in Public Health USU. The theme was selected in response to the increasing prevalence of diabetes mellitus at younger ages, which is closely associated with the habit of consuming coffee with added sugar. The seminar featured three speakers. The first speaker, dr. M. Rizky Priyanka Asept, M.K.M., M.Ked (Cardio), Sp.JP, delivered a presentation entitled “Heart & Metabolism Reset”, highlighting the relationship between excessive sugar consumption in coffee and the increased risk of heart disease and diabetes among young people.The second speaker, Dr. Drs. R. Kintoko Rochadi, M.K.M., a health promotion lecturer at Faculty of Public Health of USU, presented the topic “Behavior Reset”, emphasizing the importance for Generation Z to be more mindful in choosing and modifying their coffee consumption habits. The third speaker, dr. Radha Latifah Hanum Siregar, M.Ked (DV), Sp.DVE, FINSDV, discussed the impact of high sugar intake on skin health, including acne and premature aging.
