Medan - FKM USU: FKM USU acted as a co-organizer for the 8th International Public Health Conference (IPHC), an annual academic event hosted by the Department of Public Health, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), from August 6–8, 2019, at Bangi Resort, Malaysia. A total of 29 students from the Master's and Doctoral Programs in Public Health Science (IKM) at FKM USU participated in the conference and presented the research that they had done. The Dean of FKM USU, Prof. Dr. Dra. Ida Yustina, M.Si, was one of the plenary speakers with the topic “Towards Healthy Living by Strengthening Health Policies.” Three other faculty members from FKM USU—Prof. Dr. Albiner Siagian, M.Si, Destanul Aulia, SKM, MBA, Ph.D, and Dr. Fazidah Siregar, Ph.D—also spoke at the symposium. The 8th IPHC, themed “Alignment of Policies and Priorities towards Healthy Living,” was attended by over 200 participants. The conference was opened by Dato' Dr. Chong Chee Kheong, Deputy Director General of Health, Ministry of Health Malaysia.
