Medan - FKM USU: FKM USU held a webinar titled “Health Promotion: The Future, Competencies, and Reflections in Practice” on Saturday (17/10). The guest speakers for this event were the Director of Health Promotion and Community Empowerment of the Indonesian Ministry of Health, Dr. Riskiyana Sukandhi Putra, M.Kes., and Prof. Dra. RA. Yayi Suryo Prabandari, M.Si., Ph.D. (Professor at FK-KMK Universitas Gadjah Mada). The event was moderated by Dr. Lita Sri Andayani, S.K.M., M.Kes., Head of the Department of Health Education and Behavioral Sciences (PKIP) at FKM USU. In her opening remarks, the Dean of FKM USU, Prof. Dr. Dra. Ida Yustina, M.Si., emphasized that productivity must continue despite the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. “Life goes on, and we must remain productive, as exemplified by organizing this webinar,” she said. Dr. Riskiyana in her presentation highlighted the need for future health promotion activities to adapt to technological advancements, with a greater focus on upstream approaches. Meanwhile, Prof. Yayi emphasized that in the context of behavioral change on both large and local scales, policy and regulations strategies are still necessary interventions. The webinar was attended by 749 participants, including the academic community of FKM USU, alumni, and participants from public health educational institutions in North Sumatra, Jambi, and Java Island.
