Medan – FKM USU: An expert lecture on Ergonomics was held online on Saturday (8/28/2021), inviting Prof. Ir. Yassierli, M.T., Ph.D., C.P.E. (Professor at the Faculty of Industrial Technology, ITB Bandung), and Dr. eng. Titis Wijayanto, S.T., M.Des. (Lecturer at the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering, FT UGM Yogyakarta) as guest speakers. The expert lecture was moderated by Dr. Ir. Gerry Silaban, M.Kes (Lecturer at FKM USU). The event was attended by lecturers and students of FKM USU, lecturers and students from other universities, as well as occupational health and safety (OHS) workers and practitioners, with a total of 670 participants.

Dean of FKM USU, Prof. Dr. Dra. Ida Yustina, M.Si, in her opening speech, expressed her appreciation to the two guest speakers for their willingness to deliver lectures at FKM USU. Ergonomics is one of the disciplines studied at FKM. In addition to refreshing knowledge and insights about Ergonomics, this expert lecture aimed to identify the latest developments in Ergonomics, including research scopes that lecturers and students can explore to advance the field. Concerning the COVID-19 pandemic, Dr. Eng. Titis Wijayanto discussed Ergonomic issues regarding Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for healthcare workers during the pandemic.
