Medan - FKM USU: The Campus Life Orientation for New Students (PKKMB) of USU for the 2021/2022 Academic Year was held online for two days, from August 12–13, and was opened by the Rector of USU, Dr. Muryanto Amin, S.Sos., M.Si. After the event was handed over to each faculty, the PKKMB event continued at the faculty level. The opening of the PKKMB for students of the Undergraduate Program in Public Health of FKM USU was conducted by the Dean, Prof. Dr. Dra. Ida Yustina, M.Si. The theme of the PKKMB event was “Becoming a MIRACLE Generation with BINTANG Character.” For the 2021/2022 Academic Year, 335 new students were enrolled at FKM USU, who were admitted through the SNMPTN, SBMPTN, SMM, and Papua Affirmation pathways.
In her speech, Prof. Ida Yustina stated that the learning system at the university level is different from the previous education level, namely senior high school. Therefore, new students were reminded to transform into university students by building active participation and independence in learning. In addition to acquiring knowledge, students are encouraged to develop essential soft skills for success in society. The PKKMB activity included providing information about the study program, including the vision and mission, management, curriculum, and facilities and infrastructure to support the teaching and learning process. Several outstanding students were also given the opportunity to motivate new students, including alumni such as Ahmad Rapiudin, SKM.
