Medan - FKM USU: Students of Doctoral Program in Public Health Science Class of 2022 carried out an environmental "clean-up" action for IX, Labuhan Deli Village, Medan Marelan District, 24 June 2023. The action was part of a series of community development activities, as part of the practice of the course "Advanced Health Community Development" which they took part in the Doctoral of Public Health Study Program, Faculty of Public Health Universitas Sumatera Utara. Around 600 residents of Neighborhood IX of Labuhan Deli Sub-District enthusiastically participated in this 'clean up' action, where they worked together to collect garbage from households and the environment around where they live. This action with the residents managed to collect 5.8 tons of waste. Residents who collect the most trash are given a reward. This activity was attended by the Head of Medan Marelan Sub-district, Labuhan Deli Headman, cleaning and environmental office, village supervisory non-commissioned officer of Belawan, Public Infrastructure and Facilities Handling Officer, and the Waste Foreman. Also, present were the Dean of FKM USU, Prof. Dr. dra. Ida Yustina, M. Si and Head of Doctoral of Public Health Study Program, Dra. Nurmaini, M.K.M, Ph.D. It is hoped that the cleanliness of the environment in this area will continue to be maintained by local residents, because it has an impact on the quality of life of the community.
