Medan - FKM USU: A total of 18 students from the Undergraduate Program in Public Health of FKM USU, who were participating in the Field Learning Experience (PBL) in Langkat Regency during the odd semester of the 2019/2020 academic year, had the opportunity to collaborate with medical students from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) for three weeks (September 22 to October 11, 2019) in Kuala Lumpur as part of a public health program. The students and the UKM medical students stayed at the Public Health Training Center (Pulakem) UKM in Selangor, Malaysia. This activity, which was a form of Inter Professional Collaboration (IPC), provided a very valuable experience for the FKM USU students, as this was the first time such collaboration had taken place with medical students, and they had the opportunity to carry it out abroad. The students in this program studied the Malaysian public health care system by going directly into the field. They also learned about Malaysian culture through direct interaction with the community, conducting surveys, and implementing intervention programs. In relation to this activity, the Dean of FKM USU, Prof. Dr. Ida Yustina, M.Si, and the Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at UKM, Prof. Roslina, held a meeting on October 2, 2019, at the UKM Hospital to discuss the longevity of the collaboration program between the two institutions.
